21st Century Learner

Learning in the 21st century should be looked at as an advance in functional literacy and not as a negative depreciation of the formal learning. Technology has its place in society and with the right attitude, collaboration of both the formal and technical process of learning will create a positive change within our schooling system.

Learning for me in this stage of my life without the use of technology would most definitely be much more difficult.

Week 2 ( Reflection)

Hi Guys

Tech Meets Nature (Hope this picture makes you smile)

My reflection for week 2. I must say that I learned even more from researching the 9 multiple intelligence from according to Howard Gardner.  I think I possess the interpersonal and Naturalist intelligence simply because I am an outgoing, loving and self motivational individual who enjoys nature and what it has to offer. 'Just don't ask me to climb any where cause it is not happening'. Technology in itself has so many complex areas, but I have gain knowledge and skills on how to create a blog and apply cool pictures and videos from www.youtube.com.

My Grade 3 students most of whom are in the concrete operational stage of the cognitive development theory enjoys the use of media and creativity within the classroom. Ironically, my personal learning style is through media and kinesthetic.

Week 1 ( My first Day in the Den of EDET101)

Hello my fellow colleagues. Hope all is well with you and your families.


What is Educational Technology? This is the use of technology as a tool to educate and develop skills within students in and outside the classroom. It it also used to reach those students that are visual and auditory learners. What can I truly reflect upon when it comes to this course. I must say that so far I have learned and experienced a lot. Technology in the classroom  can help to stimulate and manipulate students to learn. Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic were the most popular ways in which most of my colleague found their niche within the classroom. Although our teaching styles may vary, our creativity within the classroom through role playing was most enjoyable.

I must add that so far I think that we have a lovely group of inspired teachers willing and ready to participate and encourage each other.
